Is This a Mid-Life Crisis?

Some men buy sports cars or take up with much younger women. Some women visit the plastic surgeon or start shopping at Forever 21. It is natural to try and recapture your youth as you age but it is wiser to step back and appreciate where you are instead of wishing for what was.

As we age, we become more aware of our mortality. It may be watching your parents get older and the problems that accompany it. It could be seeing your children grow into adults themselves and go off on their own. There are a number of things that can trigger a mid-life crisis and it can test the strongest relationships. Since there is no fountain of youth, we must come to grips with getting older.

One certain way to counter the effects of aging is exercise. Physical activity has been shown to prolong life and make the later years much more enjoyable. Getting older is tough enough but it becomes even more difficult if you enter your golden years in failing health. You not only won’t feel well but you will face the added stress of paying for doctor visits and prescription medication. Feeling good physically also promotes better mental health.

Depression is one of the most common ailments of people as they reach their forties or fifties. The pressures of daily life can wear on all of us from time to time but it gets even more difficult when faced with questions about retirement savings and health insurance coverage. Planning ahead can alleviate some of these worries and make the transition much easier.

You want a place that is safe, affordable and offers many opportunities for family fun. Every year, newspapers and magazines come up with lists of the best places to raise kids in America and there are a few cities that seem to appear on every one. Places like Des Moines, Syracuse and even Pittsburgh always seem to win out over their much bigger competitors like New York or L.A.

Choices about relocating a family can pose great challenges. The decision can become easier if you know you are moving into an area where your children will be safe and have excellent opportunities for growth. It is also nice to know that there will be plenty of opportunities for family fun.

The cost of higher education continues to soar and it seems like everyone knows somebody who graduated from college with their degree but has been unable to find a job. A growing number of young people have been forced to move back home after college because they are not able to support themselves, raising the question is a college degree really worth it?

These majors the study finds will make 300% more over their lifetime than those who studied in non-technical fields. The number one job in demand in the past year was software engineer.
